Healthy Foods Here: Produce Marketing Guide for New Grocers

Jump start fruit and veggie sales

Southwest Seattle neighborhoods are home to families that hail from around the world. Vulnerable children in the Delridge and White Center neighborhoods are less likely to have equal access to healthy environments compared to children from more affluent communities. Healthy Foods Here and the King County Food and Fitness Initiative support efforts to build demand for healthy (and culturally appropriate) foods, safe and inviting spaces to be active, plus safe routes to school. Ten stores enrolled in the Healthy Foods Here Program to increase access to healthy foods in Delridge and White Center neighborhoods. Jade joined grocery consultant Sumitra Rosella and designer george wheeler to develop a full-color Fresh Produce Marketing Guide (free download), which was printed and shared with 20+ participating merchants throughout South King County.

Kudos from the team

“This is awesome! A trove of info. george wheeler and Jade did a great job. I think if someone really wanted to learn more about expanding their business, this would help them a lot.” – Sumitra Rosella, Grocery Consultant, Healthy Foods Here – King County Food and Fitness Initiative
